Welcome! The Community Bread is a nonprofit organization rooted in faith, compassion, and community. We believe that each person deserves dignity, stability and an opportunity to heal and recreate their lives. Whether the need is food, resources, guidance, or emotional support, we are here to uplift individuals and families.

Please join us in making a difference.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food..." ~Matthew 25:35

Our Mission

The Community Bread serves as a faith guided point of hope, where nourishment and empowerment come together - feeding the body, uplifting the spirit, fueling the mind and transforming lives while restoring dignity through love, service, and opportunity.

Feeding hope. Building strength. Restoring lives...one soul at a time.

Our Programs

The Community Bread will start off with pop-up meals and resources. We have outlined programs and program ideas designed to provide basic needs assistance such as food, hygiene products and clothing donations to combat food insecurity and housing instability in Los Angeles. We want to discourage isolation through community connections. We want to be a source of restoration and stability, by building people up and assisting participants with their goals and aspirations.

The Community Bread is Looking for a Home.....

Once we secure a building we can move from

Pop-Up Meals and Resources

to:

Setting up a physical location for our Soup Kitchen and then we can add a food pantry.

Setting up a space for a Hygiene Supplies center allowing adequate storage space

for clothing, shoes, and other donations.

Also:

Resources & Support - offering comfortable and private spaces to offer light: case management and affordable housing information.

Guidance, support and assistance with annual housing packages; applying for and maintaining benefits, financial aid, and more.

(Certified Intimate Partner Violence/Domestic Violence Counseling and Certified Health Navigation assistance is available by appointment.)

As well as:

Groups & Workshops - classroom and meeting settings: our groups will offer daily topics such as wellness, cultural humility, grief; coping with:

stress and anxiety. We will offer recovery options from substance and alcohol abuse such as 12-step meetings and harm reduction

classes. Independent Life Skills and Employment Preparation Workshops are already outlined and ready to go on the calendar.

The Community Bread has designed these specific workshops to meet once a week for 12-weeks and offer a certificate upon completion.

We plan to recruit and invite skilled individuals to volunteer their time to teach short-term training sessions to our participants who are

seeking career development, self-sufficiency and even simply learning new skills and hobbies.

The goal is to focus on income-generating skills, new avenues of income, and self employment opportunities.
